A common misconception is that you shouldn't have any fat. I've had friends that ate apples and carrots to lose instant weight. Come on, you know with diet binges like this you'll gain it right back and probably then some. Many of my friends have mentioned that they cut all the fat out of their diet in hopes of losing more weight. In fact, I thought if I did it while on Jenny Craig and didn't add in my extra margarine or light dressing that I'd lose more too. Just like anything else, I wanted to see for myself if the "experts" really knew what they were talking about. I mean, maybe I'd be the exception the rule. I went two weeks without adding my extra fat and wouldn't you know it; by the end of the second week I'd gained. There are some benefits to fat such as carrying certain vitamins to different parts of our body and storing energy. Besides, typically when you go no fat you're doing fat-free which is higher in sugar which is usually higher in calories. Counting your calories is what matters the most!
